Cold is Just Around the Corner.

I know it does not seem like it in the middle of August, but the first cold snap will hit before you know it.  How many winters have you lived through here in Colorado Springs?  Summer heat turns into winter chill just like that!  Are you and your home’s or office’s heating system ready for the change of seasons?

Here are some steps to have your furnace ready –

1.  Change your filter.
2.  Switch the thermostat from heating to cooling.
3.  Make sure that the burners are free of debris.
4.  Oil the furnace blower if necessary.
5.  Have the chimney inspected.
6.  Schedule a furnace cleaning.

Some things could be a DIY job, but others should require a professional.  In Colorado Springs and the surrounding area that would be your heating and cooling pros at Altitude Heating and Air.  Let the Altitude team get your home or office heating system up to speed BEFORE the first cold snap.  Schedule a furnace inspection now at (719) 209-4955

Heat it Up.

It doesn’t seem like a topic that we should be addressing in August, but in Colorado Springs you never know when you will be turning on your home’s heating system for the first time.  It could be as soon as September!  If you finished the winter of 2018 knowing that your home’s heating unit was nearing its last legs, then you should pay attention to it soon.

Here are some tips toward preparing your home’s furnace for fall/winter –

1.  At the first snap, turn on your furnace.  You should hear the hot air kick on.
2.  Install a fresh air filter.
3.  Clean the heat exchanger every fall.
4.  Test the igniter switch.
5.  Inspect the carbon monoxide detectors.

Is it too early to think about the Colorado cold?  I don’t know, but I do know this…you don’t want to be caught freezing your tail off because you waited until the temperature dropped to around freezing!  Please visit this website altitudehvacco.com.  It is the home of Colorado Springs’ top heating, air conditioning, and plumbing company.  Call (719) 209-4955.
